Pokemon world is super weird with technology. They seem to have this amazing tech for catching Pokemon, even when they show the past when they're carving the balls out of wood or dried fruit and putting a "mechanism" in them and don't even have, like, radios.

Shigeru is not my fav. I think when I was a kid I didn't like him because you weren't supposed to, and then as I got older and got into the manga and game lore more, I REALLY loved Blue (er, Green, if we're using Japanese names) and Shigeru just doesn't compare. I mean, Satoshi and Red are completely different, too, but Satoshi is cool in his own way.

Yeah, they put too much development into the Rockets' character designs to make their Pokemon helpless jobbers, tbh.
