Yeah, the LP management is pretty cool. Personally, I enjoyed the permadeath LP system of games like Romancing SaGa, but I think this works pretty well. Having your characters knocked out for like 8 fights in a row is a huge setback, so LP loss still feels terrifying and exciting, but you don't lose your characters forever which is nice. It seems pretty easy for characters to die, too (monsters can easily deal more than 50% of your max HP in one hit if you're not defending) so you really have to be careful about party management. One thing I love about SaGa games is the high focus on resource management, which often manifiests also in managing party LP. In SaGa Frontier, you actually could recruit up to 15 characters and create three battle parties of up to 5, and when you got into a battle, you chose which party to battle with, and the ohters would recover a little. It was especially fun in the early parts of the game since you don't have 15 characters yet, but you can still split up into three battle parties if you want, so there was a lot of planning you could do. I love stuff like that XD
I think Romancing SaGa 3 had some character-specific weapon arts but not many, so maybe we'll see some like that in the game. I'm trying not to use guides (the in-game 'tips' section functions as a manual and it's VERY THOROUGH which is really nice coming off of UNLIMITED:Saga which is like "here are convoluted unorthodox systems with literally 0 explanation and weird controls, have fun!") so there's a lot of things I just don't know about the game yet, which is fun. I only know dual-weilding is a thing later because someone said it on the GameFAQs forum XD
lmao yeah I love Caspar's shirt, and Caspar in general. He's super cute.
Oooh, yeah, Rengeki kinda is like the All Out Attack, just the way to trigger it is a bit different, and it's not optional (it WILL happen whehter you want it to or not XD I don't think it can be countered or anything, so it's just free damage, though)
Yeah it doesn't matter who gets defeated, the rengeki is based solely on who 'comes together,' so even defeating an enemy that is surrounded by enemies will give the enemy a rengeki against you T_T It's way easier to understand in practice. Explaining it just makes it sound way more complex than it really is.
Honestly I love the idea of Grace being some kind of Goddess in all the SaGa universes XDDD
The load times aren't too long, they're just frequent, which is the main annoyance. The game automatically installed some stuff when I put it in the Vita, and I don't think there's a way to install the game further like you could with a lot of PSP games. At least, I haven't seen any kind of option like that. If it's some kind of native Vita functionality, though, I probably don't know about it because I never pick up my Vita.
