Sooo X bought us both the Agarest games and I knew nothing about them going in. When searching for the release order of the three games, I learned it was like... some kind of booby waifu game, which I did not expect.

The first character you meet is like... an 8-year-old who even has a CG of being cute or something and I literally thought the small child was going to be a love interest and the game was going to have you make babies with this kid and write it off as "well she's an elf so elf children are really like adult humans" or something even though she acts like a kid.

But it didn't end up being like that and there's actually a story. It's pretty much what you would expect from an eroge except this isn't an eroge. Or maybe it originally was and this is one of those eroge-made-into-playstation-game kind of deals? But I didn't think that was the case.

But yeah basically Big Titty Goddess gives you super awesome powers for literally no reason and follows you around until you meet Tsundere Girl Who Can't Dress Herself whose clothing is literally falling off at all times. And the little girl is following you around too for some reason. Oh yeah and some other titty girl who is supposed to be a 'seer' but for some reason can only think of thoughts of you.

As cheesy as the setup is, it's pretty cool for a game so far. It's one of those 'there's 23958230958 types of items can you grind them all?!' games it seems. The battle system is a lot of fun; it's an SRPG where you can make formations with characters to 'link' them up and combo techniques together, with various layers of combo things. Enemies seem pretty tough so you have to be strategic (at least on Hard Mode).

In other "news," I finished my playthroughs of Mega Man X5 to get all the cheevos. Well, I didn't get this one that is basically 'restart the game over and over until RNG gives you this 0.1% chance event" which I guess I'll just hope to stumble upon in future playthroughs or eventually sit and grind it out. I actually did it on the original Playstation version when there was no reward lol.

Overall I have to say I really like X5 a lot and am sad I dismissed it over time because of popular opinion and the whole revisit thing. Revisits are just a part of X5 and X6; they're designed with that in mind.

I started X6 and it's such a mess. I'm playing on Hard mode which is even more of a mess and there's stuff that makes no sense at all. I have a feeling it will take a really specific route (so for now, a lot of trial-and-error) to be able to make it through this. I went to the Laser Institute first since it's very short and I wanted to get the guard shell thing, but it doesn't guard against the Nightmares' orb things so it's pretty much completely useless for anything I would want to use it for. Guess it will be useful in some other parts but... the main projectile dangers are the Nightmares so...

After that I went to Central Museum to see my love Scaravich but it ended up being really stupid. I also accidentally went into the alternate stage path and ended up rescuing Zero instead of defeating Scaravich, so I still have no functional weapons and now there are Zero viruses jumping around everywhere. Since the Museum was overcrowded with Nightmares, I went to the ... ice... level... and remembered how stupid that stage is... so i think I'm just going to restart the entire game lol. I might go for the trash compactor stage first since I remember the rescues not being too bad as long as you move slowly/carefully so that the Nightmares see you before the wounded guys. And then hopefully the anchor thing you get from that stage will be a decent enough weapon to fight the Nightmares in the Museum...?

I was thinking of also going to Inami Temple or Amazon before Museum, since Yammar Option is always great, and the bubble thing you get from Turtloid might be helpful in the Museum since there's a lot of... going up. The anchor might help against the totem poles. Yammar Option... I don't really know how helpful it will be. It seems to be good against the Nightmares in Normal mode from watching Spectre stream the game, but IDK if they have more HP or weapons do less daamge or something in Hard Mode.

Anyway, the Museum is a bad first option, and now that Zero Virus is everywhere I definitely think it's time for a reset. I may as well just go to Amazon, Inami, and trash (I have no idea what that stage is actually called LOL) and get those items there. I'll also get some parts and raise X's hunter rank, so maybe he'll have a better time of trying to survive the Museum anyway.

I want to go to the fire level last just so I'm more prepared for it, but I also don't want Nightmare Effects and Viruses (Virii?) buffeting me from all directions... I also have no idea how good Heatnix's weapon is, so IDK if it's worth going there earlier.

Um, I also played Scarlet Grace quite a bit more. Urpina is amazing. I messed up getting Roh Sung so now I'm using Francis. Some really messed up stuff happened. I need to write a diary entry about it lol.
