Ohhhh Scarlet Grace. Which I swear is foreshadowing that Grace, who ascended into divinity, but was corrupted into a malevolent dark god, is the final boss. Pharr probably shows up near the end to join your party and drive the plot in her journey to free her beloved.
Damn that would be an awesome game.
Leonard is a great name. He looks like an older Zell. Even his outfit is similar in style. That’s awesome. It makes me like him haha. I wonder how the plotting and characterization compares to USaGa…
Doc is kinda hot. He looks like a villain-type. It’s a shame he’s not a party member .

That had to be unpleasant for her. Actually, in Tales of Symphonia the Chosen is born with a special stone in their hand too, which always made me cringe. That can’t be comfortable.
Anyway, suddenly Leo decides he's going to sell the farm back to the owner and rush off to Ai Hanumu, despite having no idea where it is. Because, you know, he has to. The girl said it.

And yay for a posse of friends showing up and not letting him go alone! Also, one is a PoC! That’s cooooool.
Apparently he has next to no story so you can more freely enjoy the 'free scenario' system, a la Lute or Barbara of past games...
Which seems sorta weird that he’s likely to be a “default” choice based on the questions system from the beginning, but w/e.
The style of the game seems weird, because it’s so different, but also neat? I’m definitely open to the idea of innovation, though I think having towns be constricted to menus is kinda lame. I do like the idea of having little scenes and stuff as you go around though. SaGa always has very neat characters, but they’re 90% of the time way underdeveloped. Hopefully some of the scenes you get help build on the characters a bit.
Oh, wait. Based on that picture of your party…did the mysterious waif wake up and join you in battle? Wow, she’s a regular Constance. I guess she’ll need a placeholder name (I swear to god, if she’s titled something like “*color* Girl” in the menu I’ll flip)… Kathleen, I think. Yeah. Kathleen, it is.

Okay, I’m liking Liz. She seems cute. C’mon Leo, you’re slacking in the personality department. I know I shouldn’t compare you to Zell (who is well-written, funny, sweet, flawed, intelligent and all around great) just because ya’ll look alike, but his game came out almost twenty years ago so it’s kinda sad to think he’s got better writing. Of course, it’s still early.
Anyway, after blooming the flower, some weird butterflies come out and start following us.
I’m getting memories of that tedious butterfly catching minigame in Macalania Forest for Kimarhi’s ultimate weapon. *shudder*

And now it’s Fatal Frame 2. WHELP. Don’t follow the butterfly guys!
