I think one of the most difficult things about trying to come back to lj is that I'm used to getting comments and new posts on my friends page throughout the day; at least, that's how it used to be. And then with newer things like tumblr and facebook you just have a constant stream of content pretty much, so if you want to go check up you'll always find something new, even if it's not interesting or anything. There's just always something there. I check up on lj and there's nothing new lol.

simple icon-making tutorial

This is just a quick little illustration of how to crop an image and resize it to use it as an lj icon. Nothing fancy, just using Paint, for people who don't know the first thing about editing an image.
