Sep. 9th, 2016 07:52 pmI played more of the stupid Pac-Man game XD;;;

So later in the temple you had to roll the Granite Ball Pac into these holes and they turned into cannons. Then you fired the cannon and smashed down these towers, which had cannons under them, too. It was pretty neat. But really easy and slow. But at least it felt cool I guess.

There was also this boss. This is the worst boss ever. It's so boring. It's REALLY slow. Basically it would knock these balls down from the ceiling, and you had to ram them with Granite Ball Pac to knock his teeth out. Then you won.
The problem with this is that there was no real challenge to it? It was pretty much impossible to die unless you missed one of the balls and just flung yourself off the stage (which it's pretty hard to miss). Also, Pac-Man doesn't take damage if he's hurt while in a special form. He just reverts bac to regular Pac-Man. There's nothing to really dodge, so you can just camp out over one of the Power Berries, and if you happened to get hit (sometimes you'd get flaming balls instead of regular ones, and you couldn't touch those) you can just eat the Power Berry to turn back into Granite Ball Pac before your invincibility frames were even over. Each time you knocked out teeth, he'd be invulnerable for a while and do this ground pound thing. It would make this wave of debris move around the stage, and you had to hop over it. Really easy to time. Even if you messed up, again, you didn't take damage, and could easily just eat the Power Berry again. Even if you didn't camp by the power berry, you always had enough time between attacks to walk over to one and eat it.
The last set of teeth are really hard to hit, so you have to keep attempting over and over. It's so boring and annoying. And since the game wants you to clear every stage twice (for no reason other than to say you did it on the map and get a token which you get tokens everywhere anyway), I had to do this TWICE. At least the stage leading up to him had a lot of ghosts in tight corridors so it was easy to run over them (killing enemies with Granite Ball Pac is kind of annoying and difficult in open areas because of the way it controls and the ghosts can easily out-maneuver you) and I was able to get the 100 kills with Granite Ball Pac cheevo the second time through the stage just by fighting whatever I came across. It doesn't seem like Granite Ball Pac is used much in the game except these few stages, so I'm glad I got that over with.

There was this segment where you had to ride these little platforms for a LONG time, and there was no danger or anything... so I was about to take a screencap to show it, but a fireball popped up at me while I was moving my hand to the F12 key (and thus didn't have it on the controller) and I got hurt XD I probably would have been surprised and got hit even if I had my hand on the controller. Taking a screenie to complain about how there's no danger and I get hit hahaha XD You can see Pac holding his butt cuz he got it burned. I also realized you could hop between the platforms to go faster.

Later in this fire world you get chased by a dragon. You have to keep moving because it shoots fireballs at you constantly, and you can hide behind some walls sometimes. It was pretty cool actually.

At the end of the stage, you fight the dragon as a boss! It was actually a really cool fight, I'd put it on par with like Super Mario Galaxy bosses. Well, maybe a little under that but still pretty cool.
He would shoot these wild barrages of fireballs!

He would shoot these weird like lava slime bubble things, too, and you would have to freeze them so they turned into rocks. Later he'd suck up all the lava bubbles, and if you had frozen any, he'd take damage.
Between each wave of damage, he'd make more of the floor disappear, too, making it harder to dodge the attacks, and to get to the Power Berry to turn into Ice Pac if you lost your power.

By the end of the match there's very little floor :D And you get a lemon for winning :)

That thing I thought was a boss before was just a regular enemy, I guess.

Then ... there's this boss. It's actually a mid-stage boss, which is weird. All bosses so far had been at the end of stages. But he was right in the middle. This is a REALLY annoying boss. Probably not as bad as that stupid teeth thing but... very close.

Basically, he would throw a bunch of "gross food" out onto these grill things. And then the grills would light up in these patterns. You had to eat all the gross food while avoiding the fires. As you ate the gross food, Pac would get a tummyache and start moving slower and slower, making it harder to dodge the fires.
But like... why? Why do you have to eat the gross food? Eventually he says he's all out of food and just leaves??? It makes no sense LOL. Why did he even feed him all the gross food? Why not just turn all the grills on at once and kill Pac??? XD
Anyway, you had to eat like 6 or 9 waves of gross foods. It was so annoying. He'd also throw out a 'good' food along with the waves of gross food, so you could avoid eating that and save it for when you needed health.
In the beginning, it was actually kinda challenging and I died because I didn't understand the pattern of the grill fires, but once I paid attention it was really easy to understand and I rarely got hit after that.
It takes FOREVER... and of course you gotta do the stage twice :))))))))))

There were little bugs running around on the ground. Never seen anything else like this in the game so it was really weird LOL. They didn't do anything, just decoration, I guess?

At the end of this stage, you save Spiral. Blinky & co. show up and say Betrayus (yeah that's the name of the main villain LOL) took the Frigidigitator (the thing you're looking for I guess) and fled the castle or something. IDK what they were even talking about.
But then Clyde says "We were gonna try and stop him... but we didn't." Like... WHY CLYDE??? LOL Did they just not feel like writing a reason for why they didn't stop him??? They couldn't even just say "But we were scared" or something??? It's just "BUT WE DIDN'T" lmfaoooo

I unlocked the Cherry arcade game and it was absolutely terrible and even more boring than the bosses and took even longer. No challenge and really tedious. I was also expecting the arcade games to have a classic arcade look, not to have the same graphics as the rest of the game's backgrounds :\

Then I had to go to a entire world made out of ice X_X It's so annoying. It's got a kind of 'fire and ice' theme because it's a "frozen volcano" which would be cool if I hadn't already played that theme in better games :P
Also that enemy was kinda scary at first; I also thought you couldn't defeat it but there were two at the end of the stage you had to eat to get the fruit. You just kinda stand under it and chomp... not hard at all.

What is this, Kingdom Pacs? XDDD

There are randomly these stupid like... skiing? areas... they've been throughout the whole game now. They're not hard and not fun and take forever and like for the most part you could just sit and watch them? You don't even really have to react. It's rare you have to jump over something, or you could just move out of the way (it always keeps you on the track automatically so you can't fall off or anything, just lean to the left or right), and it's so slow you have so much time to react???

Here's another one from another stage. Looks exactly the same. Why?

I finally reached a point where I could use Metal Pac. He's also magnet-themed. I thought it was going to be cool but it wasn't. Pretty much he's just regular Pac but looks weird.

The only unique thing he does is sticks to these metal panels. Sounds cool, but they don't do anything interesting with them. It's just walking forward but sometimes you're upside down or whatever. You can't make a mistake even if you wanted to.
Which is pretty much the biggest problem with this game. There's no real threat or chance for mistake. You're constantly just walking forward but you don't have to put any effort into anything. The game may as well just play itself.

I also got Balloon Pac. I think this is all of the Power Berry abilities now. Basically these are placed in certain locations, and you hold down Y and you'll float to the next location. Again, you can't really mess up. It's just there to break up the monotony of walking I guess. Which is what the entire game is. It's just walking forward but sometimes you change directions or sometimes have to jump, but there's so little threat or challenge that you can't even make mistakes. If you do make a mistake like uh... idk, don't jump?? all you're doing is bumping a wall. There's not even that many places where you actually have to jump over something, it's just jumping to a higher platform for the sake of not JUST walking in a straight line...
A couple stages have been interesting or had interesting parts. The dragon stage was one. Some of the other parts of fire stages were good, too. But for the most part, it's all just been walking forward with no danger. Sometimes you'll get to a dead end with a button. Press the button; not a dead end anymore. But there's no difficulty to pressing the button. It's not even hidden. It's just right there in the middle of where you're walking. I don't understand.
I guess the game is meant for like 3-year-olds or something? I mean, I realize it's a kids' game, but so is Super Mario, Sonic, etc. and those games have tons of challenge and difficulty to them. Even Super Mario which I think is pretty easy is WAY harder than this game. Hello Kitty Roller Rescue was harder than this game. (That game was actually really fun lol I played through it many times and collected all of Kitty's outfits and got all the endings and videos and maxed the level of all of Kitty's friends LOL)

Date: 2016-09-10 12:26 pm (UTC)OMG OMG OMG HAHAHAHAHAHA
We were bitching about Niall in Dragon Age a few days ago, but this is just way worse XD Too lazy to even look at options, would rather do nothing and die XDDDDDDDDD
I was thinking this game looked cute but now I've read this I'm like... no.
Even if it's meant for kids they could have made it...decent. My sister and I had a 2P game on PS2 for 5 year olds (literally it was for 5 year olds, it said it on the box XD) and it was actually quite hard... but good. You played as a rabbit each and had to work together to find your way around different themed lands. Like there was a whole level of music staged obstacles and things, it was really fun. This just sounds...dumb XD

Date: 2016-09-10 04:53 pm (UTC)Yeah, I think this game is an insult to kids really LOL. Kids can handle games like Super Mario and Sonic, and those can get really tough. I think I might have mentioned this in an entry but I played a Hello Kitty game on GameCube that was really well made. That's made for 5-year-olds too but it was way more interesting than this. Very easy but at least it was fun to play, and you actually had to put effort into it.
That bunny game sounds cute and fun really XD I love co-op games like that.
