Oooohh. This seems fun! I haven’t played enough of the Pokémon games to do any sort of challenge run, but I do love the idea of challenge runs in just about any title.

!!! Rival Nico! Yesssss. Ironically, it’s the one of the biggest asshole rivals in the series. Ah, well. I’ll accept it. Headcanon: Rival!Nico is only such a dickweasel because he has Complicated Feelings towards our ten-year old, approaching unwanted erection tween, protagonist. He just wants to be noticed, and the best way he figured to do that was to belittle and try to physically harm your cute fighting beasts with some of his own. I mean, that’s a terrible idea, but he’s just a dumb kid with a grandpa for forgets his name. Shit is real at his house. The dysfunction is palpable.
The first gen was so buggy haha. I never knew the specifics of how crits operated. That’s crazy.
Congrats on beating Onix! It sounds like it was pretty harrowing there. Maillet is the best badass little boy.
