Leech Life is correlated with damage; but I think it's you heal for 1/4 of the damage dealt. Which is often only 1 or 2 HP anyway because it's one of the weakest attacks in the game.
Though a nice thing about the Sun/Moon generation is that Leech Life was buffed to be four times as strong, making it as strong as Grass-Type's Giga Drain and overall just one of the most useful Bug-Type moves in general. I love it <3
