OK I'm pissed off at Dragon Age I like walked around town talking and stuff for over an hour and then I guess went ~too far~ near the edge of town and like 400 bandits came and slaughtered me and my last save was like... before I even started this play session because I didn't save at all and it didn't autosave during that time either so I have to do it all over again and I don't remember who I talked to before the save and after and lasdjlaksdjf

Also Isky is too nice and polite and declines rewards and stuff and donates to people and gives bandits money and crap so we have to like no money and as a player I want money but Isky can't do that because he's too nice. Also I met... the red hair girl and she was really cool and weird but talks funny and why does everyone hate Grey Wardens. I mean I know why but whyyyy

Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition on Steam

There seems to be multiple campaigns and stuff but I'm just doing the regular one? If you look at the previous entry and the tumblr posts it links to, you might get a better idea, since I don't really know what the difference between the versions and campaigns and stuff is; I was really confused when starting a new game honestly XD

I think that's the sexy lady I had a crush on when I played (Laliana or something??)... oh myyy. Something about her accent seems almost French, probably based on French or Tolkien Elvish or some combination. Seems lovely.

All of the characters are interesting, and get more interesting as you go... the best is the hammy voice acting. Did you notice Kate Mulgrew doing a voice? There is also another Trek voice, but I won't spoil it... probably more than 1, but just the 2 that I noticed. Yay for Trek voice acting! I could listen to Mrs. Mulgrew's voice all day. ^_^

Okie. I will check out your entry. I have some catching up to do on here. I've been fighting depression, and it makes it hard to write and keep up in here. But, today I am feeling better than I have in a long time. Depression is so lame... because I really need human interaction, but the sadness and feelings of emptiness make me avoid it.

Once I get past the feelings, talking/responding helps with everything. Even LiveJournal helps a lot, so I'm trying to get back into this as a regular deal again. It used to be so second nature. Now, I'm searching for buttons, and trying to figure out how to see all the replies (feels like a button is missing..) like the button on FB that is pure notification of people's responses. I think there is a button like that here, but I haven't found it yet- so I must hunt down each reply, or remember that I made it.

Seriously, I bet it's an easy solution. I'm just so out of practice. One of my older journals (the very first I ever started) has the original LJ layout that was so simple and user friendly. Maybe I can figure out how to put that into action on my newer account here.

Yeah, Laliana sounds about right! Before starting the game I looked at pictures only of the romance options out of curiosity, and she was my favorite in appearance alone XD Once I get used to her voice I'll probably like it, but I have a hard time understanding voices other than like... standard American dialect so accents or other dialects can be hard for me (I still have trouble with British English and I hear that a lot...! When I first started watchign Downton Abbey I remember they may as well have been speaking French because I didn't understand most of what was being said hahaha) so yeah whenever someone speaks with an accent or something it takes me a bit to get used to it and at first it's a bit of a struggle.

I'm also bad at recognizing voices in general so I didn't realize Kate Mulgrew did a voice?!?! That's awesome!! And so cool there's more Trek voices XD I hope I can pick them out!!

And yeah no pressure to look at the entries, they are kinda long, but they had screencaps so I figured if you saw some of them you'd recognize the version or story or something maybe :) But it seems you know what I'm talking about anyway even though I'm not sure I do XD There's just so much to this game XD

Sorry about your depression and I understand how LJ helps; I feel like it helps me, too. I've pretty much learned my way around again, but I've been using it multiple times a day, and trying to post once a day (but I haven't been keeping up well on that part at least XD)

Seeing your replies is indeed not an easy solution!!! It took me a very long time to work it out, and I was really working hard to find it. In fact, there's no way to easily see all of your replies unless you specifically tell it to notify you through inbox, then they will be in your "inbox." How exactly to find where to turn that notification on is hard, though, and I don't remember right now. I have to go soon, but when I get back home, I'll figure it out again (should be much easier this time) and tell you where to go.

But basically you want to go to your notification settings and have things you want to see (like comments, replies, etc.) set to notify you through "inbox" or whatever. Not through LJ Notifications or whatever it's called!! That confused me, too. It's called specifically inbox I think? Then it will start giving you the little circle with a number by it like on facebook. You can hover over your icon+name in the top right corner, and go to "messages," which will take you to your inbox. All your stuff will be there! And you have to mark them as read manually, they won't auto-mark once you look at them like facebook either.

I don't remember how to get to the notification settings, though.

I think before, I used to always get everything in my email and there was nowhere on the site where you could see your comments and replies. You had to rely solely on your email.

OK, I managed to find it real fast. Hover over your name+icon in the top right corner, go to "Settings." Then there are tabs and one is "Notifications" and that's it!! Choose the things you want LJ to store/show you by clicking under the "Inbox" tab (I think they call it delivery methods, you'll see what I mean.)

Then when you go to "Messages" under your name+icon thing, all your comments and whatever you chose to be sent by inbox will be there. Of course, it will only be ones you receive after changing the settings, though.

Leliana was definitely one of my favourite companions in this game...I liked most of them to be honest but she was my ladycrush. I loved hearing all the Trek actors in Dragon Age and Mass Effect <3

To be less of a dick I will also relate to depression because I was saying the same thing about feeling lonely but not actually wanting to interact with people at the same time. Honestly I feel like LJ helps because it is really easy to engage with people...somehow better than Facebook and other things.

It's weird because it shouldn't be any different??? It's not really - just commenting and commenting and commenting.... I guess the threads are easier to follow maybe. Facebook feels like it should be more instant but here ... IDK. It's easy to miss things on FB as well because it's just full of crap. I can easily filter out what I don't want to look at here.

Yeah, perhaps there's a lack of pressure to be immediate and you know exactly what you're getting, whereas on facebook your feed is pretty much random. Also you know who is looking here, and even when it's public, it seems more safe? Like facebook feels very exposed. LJ feels private even when it's not.

LOL yeah Dragon Age is annoying like that... you have to get into the habit of saving quite regularly for several reasons:
1) going over dialogue again is massively tedious
2) it's very easy to accidentally piss someone off when you didn't mean to, and if you're like me you want to have 'perfect' plays where your character is like, true to the idea you had....well yeah XD
3) It's very easy to please characters you hate haha

I made Alistair fall in love with my character the first time totally by accident and I hate him soooooooo much so I was really upset XD

Also in my first play I was too nice and kept declining rewards which really screws you over at the beginning of the game lol I played as a dick once and you just get your own way most of the time and make lots of gold so IDK doesn't seem fair TBH.

Also also that girl is Leliana haha she has a really interesting story actually, I like her a lot in this game. I do hate that everyone hates GWs... it's like OK well why don't you losers fight darkspawn then? OH ARE YOU SCARED WELL OK I BETTER DO IT THEN BTW I'M A GREY WARDEN FUCK YOU. I sometimes with you could punch these people like in Fallout XD Some bitch slagged off my dad in Fallout 3 and I punched her in the head and she cried and ran away from me and I felt great because she's the devil woman and I hate her :D Honestly I think she is one of my most hated video game characters ever ever ever.

I don't mind pleasing characters I hate because I think Isky wouldn't mind? XDD But I'm that kind of player I guess XD But yeah I once talked to Morrigan and like whatever I said I got 'trapped' into a chain of things where no matter what I said would just make her more and more mad and she lost like almost 20 approval or whatever and I was so mad that I restarted lol. Because like I didn't want to say ANY of those things but it wouldn't give me any other choices?!

Yeah, I think Isky is way too nice so we are poor lol. But I haven't really had much need to buy things so far because we find nice stuff in chests and stuff and as subquest rewards? And there has only been like one opportunity to even buy things so far and all I bought were flasks.

Yeah Leliana looks cool, I'm excited to get to know her XD And yeah like I understand why they all hate Grey Wardens because like they were misled to but damn people think for yourselves a little? At least some people look the other way, even though they're still like "Oh a grey warden >_>"

lol yeah I'm sure other plays will be much different -- Isky is just a super nice guy and is terrified of displeasing people so he just gives money to the highwaymen and stuff because he doesn't want to accuse them of things even though it's obvious they are guilty XD So like it's not that he doesn't want to please Alistair so much as he doesn't want to upset anyone XD
