SOOOO If you're wondering why I haven't been uploading play diaries (haha jk no one is wondering that) it's because I forgot my controller over the weekend (I think I mentioned that?) and indeed started working on my website, which now I've become absorbed in that. A lot of the "work" so far has been learning and understanding as I've never really built a website before and I had no idea how DBMS worked or how to use PHP or CSS or anything and the extent of my HTML knowledge came from like... using lj.

So I'm moving along kinda slowly but I'm getting the hang of it. Learning exactly how databases worked and how to connect to a database server with PHP was like... the biggest hurdle I had to overcome, because I literally knew NOTHING about this subject and didn't even really know what I was supposed to be looking for.

But once I figured that part out, it's been moving pretty slowly.

I'm going to keep working on this and then migrate the play diaries over there, once I've finished it and found a way to host it. I'll also be able to host the images so there will be no more broken images, and everything will look and be organized so much nicer.

But then since I'll have the website up and working (and honestly doing the play diaries first is a good way to learn my way around all this tech before trying to make my tutorial site) I'll of course want to start working on the tutorials lol so I'll probably end up slowing down play diaries to work on tuts.

I think what I'll do is go to doing only one play diary at a time. I'll probably alternate between doing SaGa and TokiMemo plays. So I'll finish up unsaga very soon (I have enough caps and progress for another entry... I actually could probably go to the end right now, but something cool happened and it makes me want to power up the party even more XD)...

Then I'll only have RSG3 to work on, and I'll start alternating after that (so, tokimemo after rsg3, then probably another scarlet grace run or maybe unsaga again, cuz I kinda wanna finish all the scenarios XD). I actually have enough content for another RSG3 entry, too, lol.

Though I'm not going to work on this now, I kinda want to create an unsaga fansite, or maybe like an entire SaGa series fansite. Something like Serebii but for SaGa XD I appreciate the SaGa wiki but I want to be able to do more with it and not have it be on wikia and etc. But yeah XD

For now, working on website. Once I get the 'base' down, it will just be a matter of migrating all the entries. That's going to take a long time because I will 1. have to reformat each entry individually and 2. have to find all the images that broke so I can reinsert them. Though while I'm "reformatting" (which will be pretty easy) I'm going to also try to maybe fix some typos and grammar errors and stuff as I go... so that will take a while. I may even touch them up a little (like... fix paragraphing issues and stuff idk XD) just because it will bug me not to do it as I reread them looking for typos and stuff XD

So it will probably easily be a couple weeks before I get back to doing play diaries...? I don't want to create MORE reformatting work for myself by creating more entries right now XD Though I do kinda miss playing the games XDD So IDK exactly what I will do. I mean, I guess I can keep playing and just not make new posts LOL. But I don't want to like... have tons of screenshots and not remember what happened?

Anyway, that's what's happening with me lol. I also started trying to exercise... today was day 2. I have some other 'life improvements' as recommended by my therapist but uhhh they are hard LOL (it's like, facing your fears kind of things lol)

But exercising puts me in a better mood which makes me more likely to be able to do those things, so it's good. And even though it's minor stuff that most people wouldn't view as any kind of accomplishment whatsoever, I actually have been trying to confront things that make me anxious and force myself to do things even though I feel afraid to do them, like uh... leaving other people are in the apartment (as in, like, chancing interactions with people LOL)

Also I've told a couple people about my autism diagnosis and most people like get weird about it like they aren't sure how they're supposed to react?? Like... I think that people don't know like... if they're supposed to feel bad or something because I think people don't really understand what autism is lol.

But uh personally I am happy to have the diagnosis because knowing I am autistic is a lot more helpful than wondering if I am -- basically all being autistic means is just that I experience the world differently from non-autistic people, and knowing this means I can better tailor my self-care and how I relate to others because I can better understand what kinds of special needs and circumstances I have.

Personally I don't think there's anything wrong with autistic people in general, no matter how it manifests, and I don't think it's really something that should hold people back or whatever -- though I think we live in a society that only values neurotypical people, so most problems autistic people face are problems caused by a lack of understanding or compassion from others, stigmatization, and trying to use goods, services, etc. that are created specifically for allistic people rather than the actual neurological differences themselves. Like when a left-handed person is injured from using a tool only designed for right-handed people, it is not because the person is ~afflicted~ with a ~left-handed disorder~ that makes them like... some broken subhuman that is less than a right-handed person... it just means that the design of the tool is flawed because it doesn't take into the account that not all people are the same.

Of course, there are some harmful things that autistic people can do to themselves or others, but not any more or less than harmful things allistic people may do to themselves or others, so... honestly autistic people are just different, and that's really it. It's just... a different kind of person to be. Just like speaking a different language and coming from different culutres or something, it just changes the way you communicate and experience the world, but it doesn't make you any less of a person or anything? And it's not really something to be pitied or whatever, it's just... being different.

But yeah I felt like this long before even realizing I might be autistic so I'm not just like... saying it because I got a diagnosis or something lol. And because I felt this way I was kind of shocked that other people seemed uncomfortable or pitying when I said I was diagnosed, though I guess I honestly should not be surprised because of the aforementioned stigma...

Um, in other news, this guy who I already forgot his name has been cast as the new Trek captain. I appreciate that it's an older man with a rectangle head but I'm sad that he's very ... British-looking and bald-faced. Though he is still quite handsome and I like his thin lips lmao.

OK I have rambled enough. Back to dev.

So, I had my second therapy session today. It went really well. I actually like therapy even though I get super anxious about it, but that's the reason I'm there anyway, so...

I got an autism diagnosis today, too. So now I don't have to worry about that anymore lol. Also I got various anxiety techniques and perspectives... IDK, I don't really want to go into it too much lmao.

I'm getting pretty close to finishing Armic's scenario in unsaga. I'm not sure how I want to do the upcoming posts. I think instead of doing a 'subadventures digest,' I might just highlight one or two interesting subadventures and then just kind of gloss over the most important things that happened. Because in a lot, nothing particularly interesting happens, and we've already covered all of these adventures in more detail before.

Knight's Mausoleum is one that I haven't gone over yet, and I really want to. That might really be the only 'big' one left before the final adventure.

But yeah Armic has not only achieved but surpassed the role I was trying to go for with Kurt and Mythe before, so I'm really excited about that. He's a little magical powerhouse.

I've also been playing a bit of RSG3. But not enough to write a post yet.

I got all my grinding done in imsaga though XD And even raised Boston. Oh yeah, I wanted to upload a pic about that.

Soooo even though I said I was going to save my kr for when they finally add unsaga content on imsaga, today they were having a special where you had a 50% chance of all gold characters being Farah (and even a chance of her being rainbow). And she came with a really cool attack that damaged the enemy a lot AND healed status effects from the whole party. And I really need a status healing person in my party.

So I ended up going for it... I found that I had about a 60% chance of getting any gold character, so like 30% chance of getting Farah.

I only got one gold character, and it wasn't Farah... which was sad, but...!

It was the sexy art Boston XDDDD And not only is the portrait nice, but he's actually pretty strong, so I'm excited about that. And he can do water jutsu which means he can learn both status-healing jutsu.

Still would have rather had Farah prolly, but this is still pretty cool, too.

And speaking of SaGa characters I want to fuck, I want to do a fanart of Koumei:

I started drawing him once before but it was horrible and I scrapped it XD

Anyway, I did 22 pulls so I have a bunch of other characters now. I'm leveling up all these purples and reds so I can dump them in the blacksmith and level it up. I think I'll definitely get it to Rank 9... I hope I can get it to Rank 10, but probably not...

But I also have like... over 100 characters to get from meisei too lol. I mean it will mostly just be greens but I'll probably pop a few reds there from all that. And blues at least add up to push the rank up experience a little. Like a whole slew of 10 blues maybe makes a little sliver of experience on the bar XD

We're not going to go take on Forneus right away. Sealing the Abyss Gates is the main quest, so of course we'll put it off! Actually, I plan on sealing Forneus's very last anyway. So for now, we're going to head back into the Naj Desert, this time going the opposite direction of the Divine Tower (because we're definitely not heading to take on Maximus, either!)

In the Imperial SaGa event, I managed to end JUST within the 40th percentile!

So I got a bunch of goodies ^_^

The event right now has like... Valentine characters. One of the special ones coming up in the promo is Katalina making chocolates... lol. I kinda wanna try for her but idk.

I've been playing Scarlet Grace today. I played unsaga and romasaga3 this week, too. I have stuff ready to write an entry for rsg3 and scarlet grace I just haven't felt like sorting through all the screencaps.

I feel bad for not updating but it's like... no one is like demanding updates or something LOL right now no one's really even reading so it's not like I have to like... get them out fast or something XD It might even be better to end up going slower.

But yeah unsaga is coming along, I did like... a ton of trying to farm tablets and then gave up when I didn't find a single one. And now I'm just moving on. But it's just subadventures and nothing to really make a post about yet XD

RSG3 I have quite a bit to post about, like maybe 2 or 3 posts?? I'm kinda mad at it though because there is a thing about Mikhail's money that I didn't realize until now and I'm mad XD

Scarlet Grace like... I'm dreading making an entry bc I've just been running around like mad doing the most random stuff and like it will be so confusing XD

The game is starting to get REALLY hard. There are times I'm like... barely scraping by even Normal battles. I've even game over'd on them...

It's REALLY important to have heavy hitters. Like really, really important. You can't just slowly wait out enemy deaths like in other games. If you don't kill them fast, they will overpower you.

I've said that before but it's becoming more and more critical.

I did get another cute guy on my team called Lewis Darling XD Um and a cute girl too.

Also I'm kinda "stuck" in a certain part of the world, because while that stupid sea monster thing is there (the thing that came out of the pot) like ... they won't let me go through the north exits, because those exist just... play a little scene about the pot and put me back in Gladion. So I can't go back to like... a majority of the places I've been, so there are shop discounts I like... can't even reach. So I'm running around new places trying to find more shops XD But it makes me run into a bunch of random events...

Also I think I'm getting pretty close to like... the end of the game (as in, the place where the game ends, not close to being finished). I heard that you can pretty much run straight to Leo's final boss with only a few battles beforehand, but it will be impossible to win if you get there that early?

But yeah I think I'm getting close XD

I reeeaaaalllly hope they make an English version of this game even though I'm like... really not expecting them to.

Now that we've finally solved the problems in Kidlanto, we can sell our rat poison and continue on. It's time to do what adventurers are meant to do -- some good, old-fashioned treasure hunting.

With our harem party fully assembled, we're now free to do all kinds of interesting stuff around the world. I mean, we were free to before, I guess, but I wanted to get all the members as soon as possible. So now there's a lot of stuff we can do.

First stop, heading back to Great Arc where we hadn't really explored before.

Not that there's too much here, but before we talked to Herman and he immediately took us to Black's treasure cave, so we didn't really get to see our way around the resort.

One of the islanders tells us that the real reason people come here, rather than to have a resort vacation, is because they want to try to find Black's treasure.

And it seems the islanders don't have any trouble exploiting that, either -- many of them will ask to show us the location of the cache for a fee. When Mikhail asks if the treasure includes the orichalcum dolphin, they'll say "!!OFCOURSE!!" with exclamation points on each side and it's hilarious.

... But none of them show us to the right place. Each one leads us to a different cave, so now we have a total of five caves opened up around Great Arc, including the one Herman took us to. Of course, the one Herman showed us is the correct one, so these others are just random caves. But it's a bunch of new places to explore, so it's worth the little bit of cash to open them up.

When you stay at inns, there often are not enough beds for your whole party, so some characters will just sit at a table or stare out of windows or something. When we sleep at Great Arc, Mikhail and Tiberius hold hands and watch the sunset together. ♥

I also just realized that when people sleep in this game, they use their about-to-cast-magic sprite... A lot of characters close their eyes or look down, so I guess it works, but like in Herman's case, he just holds one hand up, so he looks so awkward in bed like that.

From Great Arc, we're actually able to take a boat to Ake, a place we haven't been at all. This is another tropical area, but instead of being resort-like, it's on the outskirts of the jungle.

A man here tells us that the Fire Lord Aunas is said to be sleeping in his fire tower fortress deep in the jungle. This coincides with the information we were given by Johannes, so Aunas probably is out in the jungle somewhere.

Another person said that the jungle is where the fairies live.

We can enter the jungle by exiting Ake from the south, but we don't really want to go here yet. It's confusing and weird, and you can easily get lost in there.

The Ake shop actually had a club in it! And for only 20 aurums, too. So we take it to the workshop, where Nora has now started working, too, since we dismissed her from the party. I guess she lost the will to look for her father's killer when she realized she'd have to do it alone. But she wouldn't have been a match for Maximus anyway, so I guess it's for the best.

They get started on the Golden Bat.

Next, we head to Kidlanto, another one of the villages we've had access to but haven't explored yet.

Most of the townspeople here are wondering if anyone's going to help solve their monster problem, and that we should hear what the mayor has to say about it.

In one house, we find a girl with a unique sprite. She recognizes that we are travelers, and asks us if we've happened to meet anyone named "Paul." We don't know who she's talking about, though. She says that Paul said he was going to become a 'brave adventurer' and left the town.

Visiting the mayor's house, we talk to his wife, who says if no one exterminates the monsters, then eventually that girl will... but she trails off and doesn't finish what she was saying.

But when we talk to the mayor... he's one of the agents of the business minigame... which means we can't actually talk to him until we clear this game or until we give up on the game and quit it.

So, I decided to go around seeing how well I could do buying stuff up, and was just going to give up if it seemed like too much. I ended up getting a bit addicted to it and played it all evening.

As you advance, you start having tons of money, and get some really powerful groups on your side. I also realized that it's important to look at the owner of the company you're going to buy, and not just buy whatever is cheapest. If you try to acquire a business from one of the wealthier and more powerful companies, they will be much more aggressive, and it seems to entice them to try to buy out your businesses from under you, too. Dophorle is of course the worst, using sneaky tactics and stuff to make it even harder to buy businesses from under their influence.

Eventually, though, Mikhail Company became the most successful firm in the world!

There's a lot of weird stuff about this subquest. In Wilmington, the agent is a little girl. And you can change your secretary's appearance to different things depending on which agent you're talking to at the time. I changed mine again to a cute mustache guy like the northerners.

While running around monopolizing every last asset that exists in the world, we came across this sign. It's an add for a freak show, claiming we ~must~ see it before we die.

Well, we can at least go check it out.

It costs 10 aurums to get in, and there are a few little tents scattered around. In case you're curious, the freak show actually moves around and you just have to kind of stumble upon it as you're playing. Whenever you see the big sign near the exit of a town, you can visit it there.

Anyway, the place is a total bummer. There are random people puking on the ground after seeing some of the more "grotesque" shows, and all of the attractions are completely crowded so we can't see a thing at all.

In one of the tents, though, what we can over hear is a bit disturbing. People are commenting that it's "not moving," and trying to taunt it. After some rustling and banging, we overhear crying, and a voice calls out "Stop!" from inside the case in the center of the crowd.

The crowd doesn't seem to care or want to stop though, and are just more excited because "it talked."

We can't get anywhere near with the hyper crowd surrounding it though, so we have to just leave, trying not to step in vomit puddles.

Staying at the inn that night, Mikhail can hear the sound of crying from his bed, and recognizes it as the voice he heard in the tent earlier. We're given the option to go try to rescue whatever it is.

We're able to enter the show grounds at night when no one is around now. We find a fairy in the cage, and upon opening the cage, it runs away quickly without saying a word.

I kind of remember there being some kind of midboss here before, but we didn't have to get into any fights. Just this little scene. Though I forgot to go check the other tents, so maybe there's an optional boss in there you can fight for some treasure or something. Oops.

Back to our original goal, after a LOT of running around and trading, Mikhail Company finally bought out Dophorle Firm! Fullbright rewards us another 10,000 aurums, and the minigame seems to come to a close, as we can only ask Fullbright to join the party at this point.

Forgetting about Kidlanto's monster problem for a bit, we head back to the forest outside Zweig where people said there were strange animals roaming around recently, and that one guy even said he'd buy them from us if we captured them.

Here we run into a large house deep in the woods, with a... very interesting woman inside.

She asks us if we know whose house this is. Before we can even respond, she answers that it's the house of ~The Professor~. Mikhail asks who that is, and she says that people call this person The Professor.

She runs to the middle of the room and starts an entire song and dance number...

The song pretty much sings the praises of the wonderful genius professor who is an unparalleled huge huge huge huge huge huge huge huge genius.

When she's done spinning all around, she says that The Professor is so amazing she got dizzy. Mikhail asks where this amazing professor is, and the woman responds that she's right in front of him.

She's says a little line with a pun about how she's a genius and she's thirty- er... no, twenty years old!

After this introduction, Mikhail just says, "We're leaving," and starts to walk away.

She stops us and says it's not just that she's smart, but she's the epitome of beauty with the perfect body that's perfectly proportioned. We wouldn't want to leave a beautiful girl like that all by herself, right?

And with that, we're able to just walk away. But if we talk to her again, she tells us that she actually has a favor to ask of us. Four of her cute pets have run off into the woods, and she wants us to go find them and bring them back. We'll definitely recognize them right away.

These must be the strange animals people were talking about in Zweig.

Wandering around the woods, it's not long before we run into... this thing. Its name is like... "Weirdfaceplant." It's not particularly difficult to fight, and by beating it up we're able to capture it.

The next one we find is Barney, a rabbit carrying a golden watch. The pets wander around the woods and have the 'elemental' enemy sprite, and unlike the normal monsters, they don't attack the party, so they're pretty easy to spot.

Next we find Mukchar, who is definitely the most difficult of the fights, but even then, it's not too bad. Mukchar is actually asleep when the battle begins, which gives you some time to buff your party and stuff if you need to, or a free round of attacks. I chose the buff route and we eventually took it out.

The last pet we found was Mako. This thing died in like one hit. It was pretty underwhelming after fighting Mukchar just before. At this point we have two options -- we can take the pets back to The Professor as she asked, or we can head into Zweig and sell them to the man at the bar who was offering to buy them before. Either way the quest will be cleared, but our greed will shoot up a lot for selling the pets.

Taking them back to The Professor, though, we're rewarded with... a kiss. Doesn't she understand that Mikhail is interested in the fuzzy-faced old guys? He has an entire harem of them...

She tells us that there actually is one more escaped animal, a rat named Algernon. He's actually a genius rat that she created at the request of Zweig, but he's not a pet -- rather, he ended up being very dangerous, and if we find him, we need to kill him, not bring him back like the others.

On the way out of the woods, I decided to screencap this magic art to showcase it. This is Daybreak, that Tiberius comes already knowing. Basically it's an insta-death magic art. The solar power blazes across the battlefield, and can suck up enemies. The success rate is actually pretty high against small fry, but this can even work on a few bosses, too!

Algernon doesn't seem to be in the woods anywhere. Wandering around Zweig, we don't seem to get any hints on where Algernon may be, so I'm guessing he's not here. We head to the next closest town to the woods, which is Kidlanto.

Now that we've finished the Mikhail Company stuff, we can actually talk to the mayor about their monster problem. Maybe Algernon turned into a giant monster and is terrorizing the people here?

He tells us that in this village, they have to sacrifice to the monsters to protect the town. But maybe we could exterminate the monsters! He promises to reward us greatly.

He leads us to the cave just outside the town where the monsters apparently dwell.

But once we enter, he seals off the entrance to the cave!

Mikhail tries to yell to him and realizes we've been fooled -- all along he had intended to trap us in the cave, because we're going to be the sacrifice to the monsters. He has to do what he has to do to protect his people. The man pretends that he can't hear us very well anymore, and we have no choice but to travel deeper into the cave.

I mean, we can just kill the monsters, right?

Following the SaGa tradition, there are lots of dead skeletons lying around in here. You may notice that in this room there are a couple different types -- first there are the light and dark ones. The light ones are actually undead, and will start walking around when we get near them.

The dark ones have two different shapes -- one with the head kind of upright relative to the screen, and one with the head more on its side.

These dark skeletons actually function as treasure chests, and the ones with the heads 'up' represent unopened boxes. When we take the items from them, their heads will fall over to signify they are now an 'opened' box.

The cave isn't terribly huge, and eventually we reach a corridor where the game's music stops playing.

Traveling deeper along this path, we eventually reach a very dark clearing. And then little red eyes start shining all around us...

Suddenly we find ourselves swarmed by rats! There's so many of them that the screen shakes. There's still no music, and all we can hear is the scurrying and squeaking of the rats as they attack us.

When attacking the rats, we're able to choose between eight or nine different 'targets,' which are just various points in the swarm. The rats can hit everyone in the party at once, and no matter how much we fight, we can't seem to defeat them...

Eventually we have to resort to using the 'run' command.

Mikhail comments on how it's useless to try to fight the rats, and we'll only end up eventually being eaten alive. We have to try to find a way out of the cave.

Returning to the entrance, we find that it's still closed off, but someone on the other side seems to overhear us, and calls in for us.

Realizing that we're inside and still alive, the girl who asked about someone named Paul helps us out by removing the boulder that blocked the entrance. Though the conversation makes it sound like we've never met before, and she explains Paul all over again (Mikahil even asks for his name like he never heard it).

Mikhail asks her why she decided to come rescue us, and she said it was because she was thinking about Paul, and how we were adventurers like he wanted to become, so if we traveled to lots of towns, we may know of him.

Mikhail says that if we find Paul on our travels, we'll definitely tell him that Nina is waiting for him. I don't know how we just knew her name was Nina, when we had to explicitly ask for Paul's name, but... okay.

We exit the cave and go back to The Professor's place, telling her we may have an idea what happened to Algernon... It seems that the genius rat is able to lead all the other rats, becoming essentially the controller of his own rat swarm.

Mikhail asks if there's any way she knows of to kill Algernon, and she gives him a bottle of cheap commercial rat poison (it has a name that kinda means like "Without a Cat" lol).

Mikhail is a bit... surprised that this was The Professor's solution, and asks her if she really things we'll be able to win with something like this.

Of course we can -- our enemy is a rat! And if such a genius suggests it, there's no way it could be wrong.

Heading back to Kidlanto, we stop by Nina's house near the entrance of the town, but she doesn't seem to be home. We also have a bit of a bone to pick with the mayor, who trapped us in the cave, so we stop by his house.

But he tells us that poor Nina had to end up becoming the sacrifice.

So, instead of trying to fight with this guy, we rush back to the cave to rescue Nina... but she's nowhere to be found. We make it all the way to the hall where we found Algernon and there's not a trace of her yet...

When we approach the dark room again, Mikhail curses the rats for having eaten Nina, and prepares to attack.

This time when we fight the hoard, the boss battle music is playing, and Algernon gets a separate attack from the rest of the rats, so we take even more damage. Algernon can also poison the party members.

We automatically use the rat poison between each round of combat. Unlike when we attack the rats, it doesn't just do one set of damage, but rather does damage to each individual target, so all the rats get hurt and we can see their damage.

Except Algernon. He takes 0 damage from the poison.

But this is our clue! The only way to win this fight is to attack Algernon. The other rats have infinite HP, and Algernon's location in the crowd will change every round of battle, so you have to watch when the rat poison is sprayed so you can target the one that takes 0 damage from it.

You can also use group attacks, like Random Arrow and Thunderclap, and you'll be certain to hit Algernon. You can actually defeat him on the first go if you do this, I think, but you'll need to have access to a lot of strong group attacks, because the hoard can overwhelm you easily. This is a battle you have to win quickly.

Afterward, Mikhail seems distressed and sad that we weren't able to save Nina. But she comes up behind him and surprises him! When she was thrown into the cave, she brought meat with her and used it to keep the rats busy eating while she ran and hid, trying to stay alive as long as possible. Since they could eat a bit, it would be a little longer til the rats needed a "sacrifice" meal.

With Nina safe and sound, we go back to the town to talk to the mayor again...

And all he says is "I'm the mayor." That's it. Nothing else happens. He doesn't even apologize or anything. It's like nothing ever happened...

Well, I guess that's where we'll end our adventuring for now, then...

IDK what game I want to play. I'm feeling just kind of anxious in general and it makes me feel guilty for doing anything enjoyable lololol so everything sounds like a bad idea, but once I get into it I'll be okay???

I'm getting kind of frustrated with the unsaga grind -- I've almost learned every tablet I had with every character who had one and still haven't found a single magic tablet in the ruins.

Scarlet Grace isn't exactly frustrating, it's just... very difficult so I need a lot of willpower to play it XD I still love it, though. And I wanna see more Rico and try to find more characters, because I was looking on the official site, to which they've added some character profiles now, and there's like... a lot of hotties on there XD

And then RSG3 I just feel like I've been playing it too much like my last 5 posts or maybe even more have been updates to that play diary. But like, it's easy to play, and the newest so I have more motivation to play it.

I need to get back to playing Trails oops, and I do have Typing of the Dead: Overkill to mess around with, too. And like, really, any of my steam games. *coughs and looks away from Sonic Adventure 2*

TOD:O is ... fun but I had forgotten how much I hated the "story" of HOD:O lol. Papa Ceasar is kinda hot tho and there are incest themes LOL. And I like all the main protagonists, as obnoxious as they are. But yeah the "humor" and "story" in this game are like Family Guy level and it's awful.

Dennis got Dragon Quest 8 and apparently they added this guy as a new playable character:

So uhhhhh I kinda really want to play that because hot damn. He's a baldie rectangle with nice friendly burns. In a way, I love that Toriyama draws like nothing but recolors of the same 5 characters because it means we get a bunch of Mr Satan clones.

Um I've also been playing Imperial SaGa and I keep meaning to update on it here but I never do lolol. I even had some screenshots but I accidentally deleted them.

I got the last jutsu in the game today, though, so now I have all of them available! I did so much of the last event, like the Forneus one. Like a ridiculous amount. I got enough points to buy both weapons and all the stat crystal things... The event is still going too LOL but the new event has started and I'm focusing on that. It's another Trial of the Gods, this time Mirsa. It's pretty fun -- Trials of the Gods are my favorite events by far. I've cleared up to trial 37 and I'm doing pretty well. I think I might even be able to make it to 40. I'm hoping to at least end in the top 50% this time.

I've been kind of feeling like drawing lately, mostly just because I want to draw Tiberius and Rico (not... together XD just each of them) because ugggghhhhh baldies are my thing right now I guess.

Blasphemy!

Last time we left off, we had received a possible, though fairly vague, lead on the Holy Emperor's Symbol in the form of Gon mentioning a red earring. Apparently Maximus, the head of the Church of the Divine King, wears an earring like that, and he for some reason gave Gon a Dream Devil's Potion.

With a bit of Mikhail Company business out of the way, we're off to investigate the Church in Pidona.

In our last episode, we recruited our third member of the harem party, so there's only one more to go! We were supposed to be headed to the cave where the pirate Black hid his treasures to look for the orichalcum dolphin, but we're going to put that off for a bit, because we have one more harem member to recruit.

Our final man requires us to embark on a couple more adventures before we can actually find him, but the adventures are very fun and we get a delicious mustache reward at the end.

But we're not going to be seeing him right away, because we have other business to attend to.

With our terrible financial management skills shoved to the side, we move on with the actual game to try to continue building our harem party.

There are many new places open on the map, but we're going to head back to Pidona and take another boat we haven't taken yet -- this time to Zweig.

Our harem party has half its members now, but before we go on with adventuring, we're going to head back to Loanne for a bit of business.

In our last exciting episode, we got the first official member of our harem party, so now it's time to seek out one more! Ah... all these mustaches... I can't wait~

Though before we do, I want to show a screenshot from the rom hack that I talked about in the last post, so you can see what the changes are like a little bit.

When we last left Mikhail, we had gathered a motley crew and prepared to explore the world. Before taking the boats from Pidona, we're going to see what places we've already unlocked simply by talking to people.

I went to bed at like 830 last night because I was feeling sick and now its like 630 AM and I've been awake for a while and it's weird and I don't know what to do. I also hate being up before the sunrise and sunrise is not until 8AM. Waking up when it's dark also makes me feel sick LOL but fortunately I feel okay now. But I feel like it's night and I need to be going to sleep. Hopefully I'll feel different when the sun comes out...

Last night I was thinking of "perfect" games in UNLIMITED:Saga because someone on the GameFAQs forum has been trying to define it for a while now. It's... not really a game that makes sense for that kind of thing since everything is random and nothing can really be perfected in any kind of meaningful way but...

One of the things they were talking about was trying to get all magic arts on every character, and for characters without access to secret adventure, they were wondering if it was possible, someone said it wasn't, but I figured it was.

You'd have to purposely fail adventures a lot but... basically you'd do something like this:

1. Save the game.
2. Enter an adventure and find a tablet. Do not clear the adventure. Keep failing until you get the tablet, then purposely fail the adventure.
3. With the tablet, save the game in another slot.
4. Go clear an adventure to see what the tablet is. If it's a tablet you need/want, load the save from #3 and go back to #2. If it's not a tablet you need/want, load the save from #1 and go back to #2. Once you have three tablets that you need/want, load the save from #3 but continue to #5.
5. Clear an adventure so that you can apply all three tablets to your characters, then start again at #1...

Very tedious and would probably take thousands of hours alone, but you could get all magic arts on every character no matter which scenario you're playing. Of course, with characters who have access to unlimited adventures/treasures, this would be a lot less tedious, but still very tedious, and still take hundreds of hours of grinding.

But yeah I was thinking of that a lot last night when I was trying to sleep. I mean, I'd already come up with the method but I was just like... imagining it, idk. And I'm kinda trying to grind some tablets in Kurt's scenario right now, and it's really tedious and annoying. I want to go on with the game, but I really want to make this magic-focused team work how I'd like. The only two things I definitely want though are Ice Needle on Kurt and Supersonic on Edel. Anything else is just bonus. I already have all the other important magic arts. So just looking for any two tablets with those is not nearly as tedious as trying to get all magic arts with all characters (which is... at least 5 L4 tablets per character I think, and this is ignoring the fact that forbidden tablets even exist -- if you wanted to get all of those for every character, you're looking at tens of thousands of hours of grinding JUST for those...)

But anyway, thinking of forbidden tablets... it would be really fun to get a forbidden tablet for someone who has a high magic making. Like as in a 5. But I've never heard of anyone ever getting a L3 or L4 forbidden tablet, even though it's technically possible (it's iike a 1/800 chance drop from that secret enemy that's nearly impossible to encounter).

The characters with a 5 in Magic Making are Judy, Rebecca, Marie, Fae, and Norff. Sad that Josef is not among them when almost everyone else in Judy's family is...

Also I was looking through the guidebook for this, and Pharr has a last name listed (Andales) even though it's not written in Japanese anywhere, just in the like... stylized English part at the top of the page. And the Japanese by it just says Pharr (though they Romanize it as 'Fur' here lol).

And that's another thing I was thinking about...

Official materials for SaGa games do have "official" romanizations for the characters' and places' names but... they're often contradictory and also often just plain stupid-sounding. There are multiple guide and art books for UNLIMITED:Saga and they spell things differently across them, and Vaftom is like "Wahftomu" or something in one of them.

Though I was thinking not about the names I'm using in the RSG3 play diary. Some stuff, even before the play diary, I've been using the names I've seen from the guidebook. The problem is a lot of these names are really dumb. I also haven't seen all the names, because I've just seen some photographs of the book, and I only know the names on the pages I can see. Though I did find a Japanese fan site that had all the names Romanized and the ones I've seen in the book matched, so my guess is they took them from there and... they are BAD.

Paul's name is like Polu or something?? Also there is a character whose name is very clearly meant to be something like Ward or Wald (it's the guy in my icon actually lol) but he's listed as Wod. And the fan translation of the game calls him Wood lol.

The fan translation also uses different spellings for various things than the official ones, so I don't really like going by that, since they seem kinda random. Though I do like some of them, like "Zweig" (though there's a place with the same name in Scarlet Grace, and it's written something awful like Tvvaikg or something... but the Scarlet Grace names are horrible and unreadable half the time lmao)

But yeah. So I was thinking if maybe I should start calling Wod as 'Ward' since it makes more sense. And I've been calling the city "Meurs" because that is much more like what I think it's probably supposed to be than "Mules" which is... lol. Even though I'm still using "Farce" because IDK what else to call it. Podorle I have no clue at all.

There's a character named 'Baimeinyan' who I've seen written as Bai Mei Nian or Bai Mei Niang or other variations (I like Niang), I usually just call her Meinyan because I have no idea what it's supposed to be. The fan translation calls her Meifan I think?! I haven't played far enough in the fan translation to get to her (I've hardly played it) but that's the name a lot of English-speaking fans use so I assume that's why???

The fan translation does a lot of weird things, like it calls the star signs "job classes," refers to the magic schools as like "fire" and "wind" and stuff, which correspond to a lot of the elemental affinities within those schools, but then you have stuff like... ground and plant-based "wind" magic lol.

I mean, I really appreciate the fan translation and I still recommend it to anyone, I'm just saying that the naming choices are super weird and because I don't play the translation myself I'm not familiar with them really and only know the ones that I remember because they're super weird and I don't really like using them.

So yeah, I'm not sure if I should start calling him "Ward" or stick with "Wod." Ward ... is an actually name and sounds good, but I'm just kinda used to using Wod because ~it's in the book~ and I started using it. He's going to be in the harem party so I need to decide XD

There are also characters named stuff like Trucks, Lime, Snowman, etc. in this game so I guess "Wood" isn't that wild when you think about it that way. XD

I made coffee. I don't feel like drinking it though. I did when I started making it. But now I want like... something cold. Maybe I'll just have the coffee and then drink water or something. I'll probably end up having a soda.

Being awake when it's dark makes me feel like I can't do anything X_X I have a bunch of Scarlet Grace screenshots to sort through and make a post about that, too.

I got a new character the other day. Which is nice because like... all of my characters are dying. I'm kinda bad at this game??? LOL

So, I made a masterpost index thingy for Romancing SaGa 3 Play Diary even though I haven't started it yet. But I keep having a strong feeling to start, so I'll probably start it soon.

I'm still not sure what character I want to play with, so I'm open to suggestions. Even though I realize like... only a few people even read this journal and that you all have other stuff going on or aren't that interested in the play diaries, so I'm not really expecting responses, but just in case anyone happens to have a character they'd like to see lmao.

If no one has a suggestion I'll probably just end up going with doing Mikhail and the harem party, because, well, mustaches.

The theme parties I want to do are:

- Mikhail & Harem Party
- Sara & Non-human Party
- Katalina & Women-only Party
- Monica & All-mages Party
- Harid & Money-people Party

Harid is mostly just to pick up the characters I don't plan on using in the others :P But I'm perfectly fine doing any character, and if it's not one of the themed parties, I can do like a readers' choice party or something, or just a kind of well-balanced party.

I don't know how much I'll do of RSG3 right now, as it's more something to do when I can't play or don't feel up to playing the other two games I'm doing (or just really feel like playing RSG3, which I've been feeling like a lot recently XD)

If you wanna know a bit more about the characters, I made a post with a couple sentences about each (which is also the aforementioned masterpost thing).
