Sonic games list

Sooooo I kinda got bored of FF6 already. Or rather I fell out of the mood for an RPG, because I started messing around on Apple Arcade and got addicted to Sonic Racing, which made me pop back in to Sonic Dream Team after learning they updated the game with a bunch of new content, and now I want to play Sonic games :P Remember when I said I was going to play them ALL and then didn't even finish the first one? Haha ... ha...
Well, I'm going to make a list because I kinda wanna try again. I didn't make a list before and, well, I love making lists, so let's list all of the Sonic games I want to play. I want to play all the games that have some semblance of plot to them. Though I don't know what all is considered "canon," I like to experience the 'full' story including "extended universes" in most series (for example Cyber Mission and Soul Eraser from the Mega Man X series are AWESOME both in gameplay and the bit of lore they add to the series).
Anyway, let's list all the Sonic games I wanna play. Will I play them? Probably not, but making lists is fun anyway so LET'S GOOOOO
A note: The games here are going to appear in RELEASE order (everywhere separates them by style -- 2D vs 3D etc., so I couldn't actually find a list of games in release order) so I can see the games as they evolved.
TO PLAY
MAYBE TO PLAY
NOT TO PLAY
I'm not going to play the games taking place in the western cartoon universe or Boom universe, as they're a completely different set of characters and storyline. Though if I somehow manage to finish this entire list, I might do the Boom games, as I did like the Boom cartoons.
I'm also not playing (and not listing) all the various minigames, mobile games, party games, puzzle games, olympic games, etc. Just full games where a major character goes on a full adventure, I guess.
The maybes are things that are a bit iffy and probably don't contribute too much to the story. The Storybook series games (of which they only made 2) I decided to include just because I want to play them, even though they won't be particularly relevant. If I get there, I will PROBABLY play Chronicles even though it's not supposed to be good, just because I've kinda always wanted to play that one, too.
And that's it. 40~44 Sonic games. Will I get past the first one this time?! TBH the 2D games are the hardest for me because I don't super enjoy them. Like, they're cool, but they are not as fluid and playable as Super Mario and Mega Man and other games like that of the time. They're like too fast for me XD

Date: 2024-11-26 03:13 pm (UTC)I am very curious about The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog. I've heard nothing but praise for it. Literally the only Sonic game I can say that about lol.
I've tried to play Chronicles four times now. The music is so bad. I get sooooo bored early on, which sucks because I love the concept. Just strongly dislike the execution. Very dissapointing outing from Bioware.

Date: 2024-11-26 06:33 pm (UTC)Chronicles LOOKS so cool, but I've heard it's quite bad hahaha.
Murder of Sonic seems fun, I watched a little bit of a stream of it, but fled because I didn't want to spoil the story for myself.
