Well, my second fight against sex sloth demon was a lot better!



Though when it was defeated it like exploded and killed Leli and Sten...???



Then we just APPEARED in front of Niall. In fact there's a lot of like... no-transition/awkward-transition moments in this game lol. When you first approach Sloth and your friends appear, they just POP UP and START TALKING lmfao.



Isky found the Happy Book on Niall's body like he was instructed. Dead sexy abomination thing is there, too.



I FINALLY GOT A NEW HAT FOR ISKY. I guess this one looks silly but I like it?

Random baby dragon things??????????????? Wtf even was the point of this battle??? They were so random and like really easy ?????



Then we run into CULLEN who is behind barrier thing.



Obviously he has been dealing with the blood mages and mind control and stuff, and is afraid of you and thinks you're a trick... and the rest of the party is like "oh he must be delirious" like... no... he has legit reasons to act like this omg.



Cullen makes lots of faces. I like him.



Eventually Cullen listens to us, and Isky gets a chance to ask about Iv. Cullen's response is very scary though and it sounds like Iv might not be OK :( Isky is very determined to find Iv now, and Cullen keeps freaking out and trying to convince him not to.




Cullen is bothered and then huddles upon himself on the floor. Also he kept expressing concern at having to deal with the mind-control stuff, and no one thought to say "HEY WE HAVE THE HAPPY BOOK WE DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THAT" but instead were just like "BUT WE GOTTA GO CULLENNNN" and like why didn't we just say we had a way to deal with it?!?!

Uld and the sexbominations are torturing the mages and turning them into aboms too :( Isky is quite horrified. Isky has seen a lot of things that change his perspective on the world. He heard a lot of things during his time living in the circle, but seeing them makes him thing quite differently about them.





Uld says a lot of dumb shit, Isky ignorantly tries to reason with him. Wynne steps in and says cool things.




Iv is working very hard at resisting. He is struggling but he still has not turned into an abomination.



And we fight!



I saw this screen several times XD I think it's cool how you had to actually use the Happy Book and it wasn't like... just some automatic thing or just something that was mentioned in the story but didn't actually change the gameplay in any real way, just assumed to be working or something.



Finally, a battle seemed to be going my way!



But when Uld's health got low, Big Man's health got low low like as in 0. NG.



Uld realized the real threat was Isky, I guess, and took control of him :(



Leli got knocked down and Wynne has no MP... please snap out of it, Isky!! T____T



But Isky gets his face punched off :( :( :( :( :( :( :(



Leli serves as a distraction at best... it's up to you to save the day, Wynne!

Isky rushes to Iv's side...





Isky is a tangled mess of emotions. He is a bit overwhelmed seeing the man he loves after all this time, but he also almost was turned into an abomination in front of him. Plus everything that just happened was very scary in general. And Isky still feels a sense of urgency even though things seem okay for now.

Annoyingly, Iv recognizes Wynne as the one responsible for saving everyone. It's not until after Wynne acknowledges that she had help that Iv even notices Isky. Isky is a bit hurt by this, but excuses it away by thinking that he did almost just get turned into an abomination and witnessed a lot of horror, so maybe he just didn't notice Isky standing there yet.



Isky leads Iv back to the base of the tower. Seeing as he is not walking well, after the camera fades out, Isky uses this as an opportunity to stand near Iv, letting him walk with his arm over Isky's shoulders for support. Isky thought he would be happy to be so close to Iv finally, but instead it feels kind of sad.



Iv and Greg talk a lot and yes they definitely are quite fond of each other and respect each other a lot.



Cullen is still pretty freaked out and wants to kill everyone.




Isky talks to Iv about getting the aid of the magi in the fight against the Darkspawn. It's funny how Isky always imagined himself following the wishes and requests of Iv, always looking at him from below, but now Isky is the one requesting the aid of Iv.

Isky's feelings about Iv seem to be getting pretty stirred up. Perhaps Isky has been misinterpreting the feelings of safety and comfort he gets from having someone like Iv to follow as love. Isky realizes he still has a lot to learn about the world and the way he views things.




Wynne requests to follow Isky. Isky is happy to have another companion.




Isky bids farewell to Iv and we get a shiny big cheevo.



Also the Iv page in the codex basically reads "Iv is wonderful beautiful best great."




I went to camp and before the screen could even fade in, Sten was interrogating Isky. Isky was not able to give him an ensuring answer.

... Oh, I guess he's a mage representative lol.



Isky talks a lot with Wynne. They talk about abominations, and Isky's somewhat simple view of things helps her gain a new perspective. But Wynne importantly helps Isky gain many new perspectives. Until now, he had been a Grey Warden simply because Iv wanted it. He did what he did because Duncan commanded it, even after Duncan and Iv were no longer influencing him.

It seemed odd for Isky to not be in the servitude under someone. A life of making his own decisions and those decisions affecting others is scary and foreign to Isky.

Wynne explained that his role as Grey Warden is that of service to everyone. Isky likes the idea of service, and the idea of helping anyone... but at the same time, he now holds the responsibility for not only himself but for the others he helps. It is a very different type of servitude. Isky contemplates exactly what meaning he is giving to his life.

Talking with Wynne is very soothing and educating (both to Isky and me as a player honestly; I could talk to her all day XD). Seeing Wynne thinking about her death as something inevitably soon makes Isky thing about many things in his life.



After leaving camp to head back to tower because I wanted to pick up those sidequest things from the bag, I got this cutscene with Log and his beautiful nose.



This guy isn't cute but his nose is very good too.



Anyway, that guy apparently found this assassin for Log and they're going to try to kill Isky and Alistair to get rid of the Grey Wardens. His voice DOES NOT MATCH HIS APPEARANCE AT ALL. Also I know he will become good buy because before playing I looked at a pic of each romanceable to help determine which gender I wanted to play as first so I saw him already, oops. Also this is why all games should have any-gender relationships XD



Log looks very troubled honestly.



Also we ran into this dude who has very deep voice. That's where I stopped (well, I did go back to town-across-lake-from-circle-tower and grab the sidequests, then went back into tower because I was supposed to find this 'power spot' but I couldn't find it. Then I quit XD)

Did you cast some special spell on it? There's a spell that makes things explode when they die but I can't remember what it's called.

LOL Isky's new hat is my favourite hat, but I always give it to Morrigan because I feel like she would hate it and I like the idea of a rage quietly building up inside her XD

The Dragon's were weird – I guess for some reason the Circle keeps baby dragon things and for some other weird reason the blood mages let them out. IDK.

Everyone is really weird about this bit, and in Dragon Age 2 he is still showing trauma from this bit and people don't get it and seem really angry that this experience would upset him lol Like ok no you're right he has just been attacked and watched all his friends and mentors and charges die in front of him because psycho mages rebelled and indiscriminately slaughtered whatever showed up but FUCK OFF CULLEN GET OVER IT.

lmao I love that Wynne was last one standing xD That happened so many times on my games – often it would just be her and rogue lol unless I was playing a Cousland , then it would be him and Wynne TO THE DEATH.

I really love Sten haha I love that your conversations with him are really sudden and unexpected, like he just... accosts you randomly and asks you things XD He does it again later in the game and it's at a really inappropriate time but it just seems soooooooo like him lol And I also like that you can basically tell him to shove off because he seems to think that shows leadership XD

Loghain is actually one of my favourite characters. The guy underneath is Arl Howe and he is a bastard and ugly and I hate him but his son is hot. The end XD

LOL omg poor Cullen. It doesn't even seem hard to understand why he'd be upset and stuff like???? ANYONE WOULD BE??? Like, especially Wynne and Isky (well, Isky was allowed to show understanding through the options at least) like Wynne knows him and why he's there and knows what's going on and even she is like "oh I guess he's just crazy!"

lmaooo Isky always draws out every conversation because he hates making people uncomfortable but he also hates committing to anything so he just gives the most vague responses and Sten hates it so bad and always seems super frustrated about talking to Isky so it's like ... he makes these sudden convos and it's like HAHA LOOK WHAT YOU GOT YOURSELF INTO YA BIG LUG

So far Loghain is just painted as the Big Bad but I'm excited to get to know him XD Plus I love his face XD

lol I punish characters a lot, as though they know what's happening. One of the companions angered me a lot once, so I bought the ugliest hat and was like "THIS FOR YOU NOW".


lol yeah... IDK I might buy Dragon Age 2 for you one day when you finish this so you can see what he becomes XD I still loved him, I never stopped loving him, I CAN FIX HIM!!!!

I can't wait for you to really get to the bits where you see more Loghain because I just... I like to see other peoples' reactions, and I think your one will be in my favour haha he's one of my favourite characters from all 3 games and for once it's not (solely) for shallow reasons xD He's really interesting, and after I played the game I read his backstory which just makes him even better <3

Haha well if I like this well enough from beginning to end I will probably want to get DA2 on my own eventually anyway. But I feel like it will take me forever to get through this game (since I am slow already plus I wanna try all the origin stories and stuff, and do the weird added campaigns or whatever)

Hahaha I tend to find reasons to love characters even if it starts out shallow XD But yeah I'm excite to learn Loghain too :))
