This episode starts out with no one understanding how to read a map again; all we know is that we must get 'through the mountains' to get to Sekichiku City... but what does that mean? Who knows!!

While wondering where to go, an earthquake seems to occur, which also ruins the Rockets' great lunch they were about to eat. Finding the sin of wasting their lunch unforgiveable, they run off to search for the source of the quake. Also, Nyarth is on a diet and doing crunches????

The ggg also goes to investigate, finding a disgruntled construction chief angry out of his mind because a bunch of Digda keep ruining all of his efforts to build a dam in the nearby hot springs area.
The chief puts out a bulletin for Pokemon trainers to come and get rid of the vermin Digda that are ruining his construction efforts. A massive group of trainers gathers, including Shigeru and his gaggle of gals.

Shigeru kisses his Monster Balls before throwing them :P Just a little side note. It's kinda cute/funny. Anyway, none of the Pokemon will come out of their Balls, and Pikachu even stops Satoshi from summoning Zenigame.

The Rockets decide they want to try to steal all of the trainers' Pokemon, but realize it's useless with Dogars and Arbo. So they try to get them to evolve, and succeed by hugging them and crying lol. So Arbo evolves to Arbok, and Dogars evolves to Matadogas, which pretty much translates to "More Dogars" I'm not even kidding X_X;

While that's going on, the ggg follows some Digda from the hot springs to find that they're planting a forest in the mountain. They and construction chief man realize that the dam would cause the area to flood, destroying the natural habitat of Pokemon and ruining the work of Digda. Also there are now Dugtrio helping. If you watched this one in the past in English, you probably remember "Diglett Dig, Diglett Dig, Trio Trio Trio!" and that pretty much is the same just using "Dig-da Dig-da DUG DUG DUG" lmao.
The Rockets pop out and try to fight to show off their new evolutions, to which Satoshi calls out FOUR of his Pokemon to fight, but then they have Arbok dig underground and Matadogas follow, which results in them getting beat up until they're full of bumps by Digda and Dugtrio.
Then chief calls off the work on the dam.
This episode... was really not good. I really had to force out this entry lol.
I clearly remember the "Diglett Dig, Trio Trio Trio" thing from when I was younger, but did not remember the rest of the episode. Probably because it's very forgettable. Almost NOTHING happens throughout the episode. There's a lot of unnecessary talking and little gags, like Satoshi constantly bothered by Shigeru calling him the "fourth" trainer from Masara Town, Takeshi wanting to get the phone numbers of Shigeru's hunnies, and a bunch of wordplay involving the phrase "sekai ga chigau" (in a different world).
The evolution of Rocket Co.'s Pokemon is COMPLETELY random and doesn't fit in with the rest of the episode, and their evolved battle debut is just digging a hole and getting beat up.
The "people are destroying the habitat of the Pokemon and the Pokemon are fighting back" theme was already done in episode 19, and it was executed MUCH better there. In this one, it was obvious from the start that the Pokemon were interrupting the construction to save their homes, but it wasn't "revealed" until a very unclimactic ending which just resulted in "OK, we won't destroy it. The end."
So disappointing. I think this may have been my least favorite episode thus far. Well, there's no "I think" about it. I haven't even been disappointed in a single episode like this. Fushigidane's episode let me down, but it was mostly just boring. This episode was actually a drag to watch, and I felt a wave of relief when it was over. So sad. I guess they can't all be bangers, right?
