ROCKMAN Series Playthrough
Jul. 24th, 2022 01:04 pmThink I'm gonna try to do a ROCKMAN classic lore series playthrough (on twitch), including all the canon games and the "expanded universe" games, such as Challenger from the Future which presents an alternate timeline to the end of ROCKMAN WORLD 2. Basically just because I've never played a lot of those games before.
* Starred entries are games I've never cleared before. Some (like R&F and R11) I've played quite a bit, just never actually fully cleared.
I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with games with multiple endings; if I should just go for the canon ending or replay to see all endings.
The Japanese titles are listed because some games don't have an English release and I wanted the list to be uniform. I'll likely play the games in English if possible for the sake of sharing the story with the stream.
Not included, while technically could be fun not-so-canon side games are ROCKMAN'S SOCCER and BATTLE & CHASE. Mainly because they contain next to no story anyway, and would kind of distract from the lore playthrough. I can just describe their lore when they come up :P I think SOCCER takes place after R4 and BATTLE & CHASE takes place after R5.
Also not included are ROCKMAN ROCKMAN and Irregular Hunter X as these were meant to be reboots of the series and are not part of the 'classic' canon, featuring things like characters and stories that don't fit the canon at all, but would be great for a reboot of the series as a whole. Maybe I'll play them as bonuses as the end, though, as they are really fun. ROCKMAN ROCKMAN doesn't emulate properly, though, AFAIK.
