Yet again, Ys. Things actually happened this time XD And I met a new cute old man XD

So, I decided to go ahead and go to the mountain just to see... And there was lots of goodies up there. Importantly, the enemies seem to drop a LOT of money.
Anyway, I got a bunch of raval ore, and when my HP was running low, I warped to town just to check how much ore Antonio actually wanted.

He only wanted 200 raval, and gave me 10k for it! He also gave me this Jade Ring that he said was worth a lot.

When I went to the store, Cynthia asked if she could have the ring and said she'd give me the shop's bestsellers. She literally gave me the stupid little things that sell for 50G lolol. And then I got this achievement to show I gave it to the wrong person, and it told me who the right person was LOL so I loaded the save file to keep both the ring and the cheevo :P

I had enough for the Banded Shield from the 10k gold, so I bought it. Now the sword is the only thing left in the shop :)

I went ahead and tempered my sword at least. BTW I hate Adonis because he's really stupid looking, is kind of an ass but not in a cool way, and has a really annoying voice.

Cool plant thing :)

Then I started finding these things called Berm Leaves??

I could see this pot over there and knew it probably had money since most pots have money but I couldn't figure out how to get to it?!?!? It made me so mad!!

I kept going up the mountain... I was able to get pretty far... I even gained a few levels O_o And I found a house...!

Inside I found this guy :D He knew who I was before I even introduced myself o_o It's Dogi and Chester's master. "Deep Voice" lmfao

I eventually found some more things it looked like I could break...

I kept having to leave because my HP would get too low and I didn't want to die (you pretty much have to load last save) and the furthest save point (you can warp to save points) was right before Berhardt's house so I kept going in and talking to him even though he kept saying the same thing XD
Apparently he used to be an adventurer like Adol (OMFG I JUST REMEMBERED THAT STUPID ARROW TO KNEE MEME I HATE EVERYTHING) but gave it up to settle in the mountains outside Felghana. But it seems to be a kind of touchy subject or something. Enough to call it "old ghosts."

There were a couple big open areas like this that looked like they'd probably have boss fights XD
Eventually I felt like I couldn't go much further in the mountains so I went back to the abandoned mine and fought the stupid thing. It was really easy this time... I guess maybe I overdid it? Usually Ys games don't let you overlevel so I was a little surprised XD

I got this statue. I forgot to take a pic of getting it out of the chest :P

I gave Randolph the ring back. His voice is really cool, but I don't understand the accent it's like Russian + Spanish or something. I'm bad at recognizing accents though.

He gave me this virtually useless thing.

The pikkards got sick :( But those herb things I found in the mountain are actually the cure XD But I didn't have enough...

Edgar told me the legend of Felghana about how an evil demon Galbalan washed ashore one day and was horrible?? IDK but the hero Genos fought him and... I don't remember how much Edgar told me and how much Berhardt told me because they both told part of it. But basically Galbalan was too strong to vanquish so Genos sealed him away with four seals, and the statues are the key to the seals, so he hid them in the most out-of-reach places he could find and had his "descendants" watch over them (UM why are his descendants like... worm+crystal monster and like dragon and stuff LOL). And so McGuire is probably trying to find them in order to break the seals thinking he can harness Galbalan's powers for himself.
I know, it's pretty generic story but Ys games aren't about story really XD Though this is probably the worst story of all the Ys games I've played (this is the 5th one I've played)

Then Anya wanted to play treasure hunt XD She stole Dewey's raval ores (I think Dewey is her dad??) and hid them around town, so you gotta find them. The last one was stupid and I was mad. I only found it after realizing you could talk to her over and over to get hints about where they were XD And that hint made it obvious lmfao. But I found the other 3 easily.

She is soooo cute and her voice is fast (well, normal, but fast compared to everyone else in this game XD) so I love her LOLOL

There's a cheevo for it too XD The only reward is you get to keep the raval ore lol...

Anyway, apparently Dogi is with Berhardt now and I'm supposed to go find him, and ask Berhardt to tell me more about the statues and stuff. So now I'm actually supposed to go to the mountain XD
On the way back up, I decided to start from the beginning instead of warping to Berhardt's house, and pay closer attention to try to find more herbs. I'm glad I did, because I found some!!

I found out how to get to the stupid pot, too. It was a little path obscured by the tree 9_9;;;; It did have a bunch of money in it, though!!

When I got back to that ominous open area, sexy mummy was there to greet me :P BTW his voice is really bad acting. It sounds like someone just read the lines off a paper with no feeling and then they added a bunch of weird distortion effects to it LOL I hate it.
Anyway, he summoned these three faerie things that kinda reminded me of the faeries from Ark of Napishtim. They were really easy to beat, though... like REALLY easy???

Berhardt full portrait :)
Also, he had voiced lines this time, and it was obvious we had already met. I wonder if there's different voiced lines if you don't go here early and meet him before?

You could ask him about a bunch of topics, and one was Chester. He said he refused to talk about Chester to me or even Dogi, but he's willing to kill him O_o

Then I kinda... remembered that a couple people in town had been talking about how Elena left town on her own again (she has to sneak out because that one guy is guarding the gate LOL) and I was kinda expecting to meet her on the mountain but it's so ridiculously dangerous, I can't imagine she came up here... so I decided to go back and look for her. I went to the castle first, thinking maybe she was trying to get in to see her brother, but instead, the guard (who usually is just threatening) told me that McGuire's son left the castle and is wandering around??? This sounds like it could be a subquest but I REALLY don't feel like running through all the areas of the game looking for him... he's not in the town so he's probably at the quarry or the ruins and like... UGH I just don't feel like it LOL. I guess really I should look just in case? I doubt the kid went far (he's little, just from seeing the official artwork of his family) so maybe he's just at the entrance to one of the places?
I went to the dock where the game begins thinking maybe the kid went there, or at least Elena would be there. It's a relatively safe place.

Elena was there lol. She reminisced about looking at this view with her brother.

Then you offer to take her home. I knew it was the time to try to molest her lol and I said I was going to figure it out on my own...

It was really easy, you just shove her behind this statue, out of sight because you're obscured by the tree.

Yay :\
Anyway, I got Elena home pretty easily (she died in two hits though; I actually had to retry it lol)

Back to mountain! I found another herb...

And a Dogi :D
Dogi is pretty hilarious. As generic as he looks, they always give him a lot of funny lines, so I've really grown to like him. Adol/Dogi is like the ONLY ship that I've seen other people make stuff for? Adol and Dogi also seem to be the only characters people even draw (they're regular characters, though, as each game usually has completely self-contained story unrelated to the others for the most part)

I jump across and Dogi is impressed but annoyed he can't come with. I was actually expecting Dogi to get across somehow because he's the Wall-Crusher (it's his nickname because he smashes walls down with his bare hands XD Like, weakened walls or whatever XD) and so I thought he'd help me get through those one parts.
But instead he tosses me the Terra Bracelet, which is the last of Genos's bracelets, and now I can do lightning magic :D Which can bust through walls.

It's not as great as the wind magic offensively, but you don't take damage while you're doing the little charge thing, so that's pretty cool. And yeah, wall-bustin' XD

So the first thing I did was go back to the ruins where that crack in the wall was... remember, I screencapped it? XDDD There were enemies in there that did over 300 damage in one hit....... so I died right away xD

But I tried again hopping over them... it was a narrow passage and they're kinda fast. It took a few tries but I managed to get to the end and grabbed the Spirit Cape and IMMEDIATELY flew away. Spirit Cape is a recurring item in the series that allows you to heal by standing still. It's slow but useful if you really don't want to fly back to a save point but are low on HP and able to find a safe spot to heal up. There are no healing potions or anything like that in the game, so this is all you get :P Enemies do drop herbs that restore HP, but you can't save them up, you heal upon picking them up. But you have to risk fighting in order to find them XD

Then I did the same for that one place in the abandoned mine. They killed me there, too. I eventually found a way to get the raval ore (200 holy crap) and bust the pot which had a ton of money by luring the enemies out of the cave and far away then dashing in and grabbing everything.

Then I went back to see if I had enough herbs to heal the pikkards now, and I did :D I guess there were 4 (one for each pikkard XD). I got this:

And the stupid "increase max HP" potion thing. It raises your max HP by 1. IDK the point of those items LOL.

Dogi tells me to be the Wall-Crusher now XD

After a lot of exploring (the cave in the mountain is freaking huge) and getting the boots that let you not slip on the ice, I got to this dragon... its little intro scene does unavoidable damage to you, so you start out the battle with a big chunk of HP gone -_- I don't even have 250 max HP, so getting ~90 damage done from the start is huge... and all its attacks do that much; it's horrible. Some can hit you more than once. So I'm kinda stuck there and am gonna have to practice this for a while.
Maybe I should take a little break and run through the old areas and see if there are any more breakable walls I forgot about, as well as look for McGuire's son. IDK if it's an actual subquest or just dumb flavor text though XD but I guess it can't hurt to do a quick little run-through.
The TGS FF12 presentation is in less than an hour~~ I'm not going to be able to stay up for the SaGa SCARLET GRACE one though >_>; I don't think the FF12 one is going to be that great -- I think they're mostly going to be talking about the development of the original FF12..????? IDK why since it's so old now LOL why not talk about the new one?!?
